Derby Days 2007 Highlights:
Every year the last weekend in July is set for Derby Days! This year was a success and marked the inaugural running of the Adult Derby Race. Here are some photo highlights:

MACC June 2007 Membership Meeting:
The June MACC Membership Meeting was held on June 27th at the Chamber's new home - The Depot at 425 W Main St., Morristown, IN. 46176. The Chamber also had a Grand Opening ceremony during the meeting.

The Board of Directors was honored to have Representatives Bob Cherry and Sean Eberhart, and Senator Bob Jackman in attendance for a "Whistle Stop Tour". Each took a few moments to address those in attendance.

Annual MACC Meeting, April 25th, 2007:
The annual MACC banquet was held on Wed. April 25th from 5:30 - 7pm at the Bluebird Restaurant. Bob Jenkins was the Chamber's guest speaker. You can learn more about Bob Jenkins here.

Award winners from the annual meeting were:
1. Chris Ross presented the Morristown Christian Church with a special recognition award for their community support.
2. Ed Ebert receveived a recognition for his service to the Chamber & the Board  Mr. Ebert was out of town, so Gail Stamm accepted this on his behalf.
3. Kim Baker received the Citizen of the Year award.
4.Speaker, Bob Jenkins, donated his fee to the Morristown Boys & Girls Club.

MACC Membership Meeting:
The last membership meeting was held on Tuesday, March 6th, 2007 at Morristown Express at 12:00 noon. It was the Grand Opening for Morristown Express.

Dodd's Hall Concert
The concert, given by the Shelby Community Band, was held on December 4th and hosted by the MACC.  It was a free concert for the entire community.  Santa came for a visit and passed out candy canes to everyone in attendance!  It was a wonderful event and we hope to make it an annual tradition.

250 Farmers sign Declaration of Energy Independence

Document presented to Lt. Governor at Morristown Biodiesel Plant Opening

August 1, 2006, Morristown, Ind. -- Today, a group of state officials, agriculture leaders, farmers, and truckers gathered for the Grand Opening of Integrity Biofuels in Morristown. This second opening of a biodiesel production plant within two weeks has signaled the nation that Indiana is a serious contender in the biofuels industry.

Integrity Biofuels President Charles (Shorty) Whittington, Lt. Governor Becky Skillman, Indiana Agriculture Director Andy Miller, American Trucking Association Executive Director Fletcher Hall, and Indiana Soybean Board Executive Director Chris Novak witnessed 250 farmers signing a Declaration of Energy Independence.

The Morristown Area Chamber of Commerce Annul Banquet was held on April 26, 2006 at the Bluebird Restaurant. 

Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman (photo below) was the special guest for the evening.  Several members of the chamber set up informational booths at the event.

Linda Muegge (photo lower left) was recognized as the Citizen of the Year.
